The United States Attorney's Office announced that during a federal court session in Great Falls on Wednesday, Thomas Charles Marc Heavy Runner of Browning appeared on a charge of being an accessory after the fact to first and second degree murder.
The charges stem from the death of Marie Heavy Runner, whose body was discovered in Browning in November 2011.
Heavy Runner, 21, pled not guilty to the charges, and is currently released on special conditions. If convicted of the charge, he faces possible penalties of 15 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and five years of supervised release.
Last week, Mark Saint Storm Heavy Runner, a 44 year old resident of Browning, was arraigned on charges of first and second degree murder in connection with the death.
